Legal
This Privacy Policy explains how Dolores Stropagel Media ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Grief Relief book website at griefreliefbooks.com (the "Site"), the Grief Relief Facebook Page, our related social media and advertising, and the automated posting tool described in Section 12. By using the Site or engaging with our pages, you agree to this Policy.
This Policy applies to information collected through the Site, through the Grief Relief Facebook Page and any other social media profiles we operate, and through advertising we may run on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. It does not apply to Facebook, Amazon, or any other third-party service, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
The Site is primarily informational and does not require you to create an account. You may choose to give us information — for example, if you email us, comment or message us on Facebook, or (should we add such a feature in the future) join a mailing list. In those cases we receive the information you send, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and analytics and advertising tools may automatically collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type and settings, device type, operating system, referring/exit pages, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits. This information helps us keep the Site secure and understand how it is used.
If you follow, like, comment on, message, or otherwise interact with the Grief Relief Facebook Page or our other social profiles, we may see the public information and interactions that the platform makes available to Page administrators (for example, aggregated Page insights and the comments or messages you send). Your use of Facebook is governed by Meta's own Privacy Policy.
The Site itself uses only what is necessary to load its pages and fonts. However, if we enable analytics or advertising (see Sections 4 and 5), those services may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, and local storage) on your device to recognize your browser, measure performance, and, where applicable, deliver relevant ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the opt-out tools listed in Section 5. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the Site function.
We may use analytics services — for example, Google Analytics — to understand traffic and improve the Site. These services collect information such as the pages visited and general location (derived from IP address) and report it to us in aggregate. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on.
We may advertise Grief Relief on platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google, and we may use their measurement and remarketing tools — for example, the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags. These tools may use cookies and similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to show you our ads on other sites and apps ("remarketing" or "interest-based advertising") based on your visit to the Site. They may collect information such as your device and browser data, the pages you viewed, and actions you took.
We do not receive your name or contact details through these advertising tools, and we do not sell your personal information. You can manage interest-based advertising here:
The Site contains affiliate links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no additional cost to you. When you click a "Buy" link and are taken to Amazon, your activity on Amazon — including any purchase — is subject to Amazon's Privacy Notice and terms, not this Policy. Affiliate links may include tracking parameters that tell Amazon the purchase originated from the Site.
We use the information described above to:
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with:
Content you post publicly on the Facebook Page is visible according to the Page's and your own Facebook visibility settings.
The Site — including our Resources page — links to third-party websites such as government agencies and nonprofit organizations. We provide these for your convenience and do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the limited information we handle, and we restrict administrative access to authorized persons. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law; aggregated analytics data may be kept in de-identified form.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port it, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at griefreliefbooks@gmail.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. Because some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal for which there is no common standard, the Site does not currently respond to those signals; you can instead use the opt-out tools above.
We operate a private automation tool that publishes a daily grief-support post to the Grief Relief Facebook Page via Meta's Graph API. This tool has a single user — the Page administrator — and is not offered to the public.
The Site and our content are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We operate in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the effective date shown above. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
